Scubabo Dive Victoria - will provide comprehensive training from their Queenscliff dive centre, where you will have access to a private purpose-built dive pool, accommodation and vessels for dive charters in Port Phillip Bay!
Course Description:
This program provides the skills and concepts required to safely and comfortably navigate underwater during a dive. You will learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, basic navigation patterns and how to leave and return to a designated point. You will earn the SSI Navigation Specialty certification after completing this program.
The SSI Perfect Buoyancy specialty is the best way to improve your buoyancy and get the most from every dive. Buoyancy is an essential dive skill, but any diver will tell you it takes time to perfect. The Perfect Buoyancy specialty will teach you advanced buoyancy skills and techniques, so you can master your buoyancy more quickly and enjoy more relaxed dive adventures. In this fascinating program, you will also learn new skills that protect the environment and work in every diving situation. Upon completion, you will earn the SSI Perfect Buoyancy Specialty certification
Prerequisites
- At least 12 years of age
- Open Water Diver certification or higher
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
At our dive centre, we offer rental equipment on SCUBA hardware only. This does not include mask, snorkel, fins, boots and gloves – you must own these for your course. You will also need an SMB, Reel and Compass.

Dive Medical:
A dive medical is only required if you fall into one or more of the following categories:
Those with an at risk medical condition; or are over 45 years of age; or have a body mass index (BMI) over 30 AND a waist circumference greater than 102cm for males and 88cm for females.
If you fall into one or more of these categories you will need to obtain a diving medical (AS4005.1) The cost is roughly $100AUD and takes about 45 minutes to complete with a registered diving doctor.

Course Schedule:
This one day course will begin with academic and practical sessions in the pool; then it’s off to the ocean for 2 navigation dives out in Port Phillip Bay!!
