Scubabo Dive Victoria - will provide comprehensive training from their Queenscliff dive centre, where you will have access to a private purpose-built dive pool, accommodation and vessels for dive charters in Port Phillip Bay!


Course Description:

This program provides the skills and concepts required to safely and comfortably navigate underwater during a dive.  You will learn how to use a compass and natural navigation techniques, estimate distance, basic navigation patterns and how to leave and return to a designated point.  You will earn the SSI  Navigation Specialty certification after completing this program.


Prerequisites

  • At least 12 years of age
  • Open Water Diver certification or higher


EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

At our dive centre, we offer rental equipment on SCUBA hardware only.  This does not include mask, snorkel, fins, boots and gloves – you must own these for your course.  You will also need to own a compass.

Dive Medical:

A dive medical is only required if you fall into one or more of the following categories:

Those with an at risk medical condition; or are over 45 years of age; or have a body mass index (BMI) over 30 AND a waist circumference greater than 102cm for males and 88cm for females.

If you fall into one or more of these categories you will need to obtain a diving medical (AS4005.1) The cost is roughly $100AUD and takes about 45 minutes to complete with a registered diving doctor.

If you are unsure please refer to our SSI Medical Waiver prior to booking.


Inclusions:

  • BC, regs, tanks, weights and wetsuit.
  • 2 dives


Course Schedule:

This one day course will begin with academic and practical sessions while staying dry; then it’s off to the ocean for 2 navigation dives out in Port Phillip Bay!!
