With this course you will learn about search patterns, specialized dive plans, underwater communication, and how to recover small to medium-sized objects using specialized equipment like lift bags. You will earn the SSI Search and Recovery Specialty certification after completing this program.
PREREQUISITES
- At least 12 years of age
- Open Water Diver certification or higher
INCLUSIONS
- Cost includes equipment: Wetsuit, BC, Regs, tanks, weights and fills.
- SSI training materials and fees plus certification
- 1 Pool session, 2 ocean dives
COURSE SCHEDULE
This course consists of pool and academic sessions as well as land training and dives within Port Phillip Bay and surroundings.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
At our dive centre, we offer rental equipment on SCUBA hardware only. This does not include mask, snorkel, fins, boots and gloves – you must own these for your course.

Scuba diving relies heavily on being comfortable in the water with the gear you are using so most people becoming divers take the opportunity to purchase some of the personal items that will enhance the course and can be used well after the course for your diving and snorkelling adventures.
